i dont listen to these ppl because they can up a diet. my friend Sean , went on a diet , he need to lose 50 lbs. he lost 20 but as soon as he searched the web all of these random weight lost guru’s gave him different so he got confused. i say eat what you but small parts or if you eat healty go with alternatives of your favorite food. exercise is what really does it , sean was on the football team and they worked him hard now he’s cut and has some muscle mass.
So no milk when …
So no milk when bodybuilding?
Steve, are you …
Steve, are you saying that milk is not excellent? I like milk, and while I’m not currently working out, I drink a lot of it. I can’t stand soda, so I have always drunk milk my entire life (I’m 23), and it has never made me stout; I’m in the normal weight range for my height. Are you just saying here that people should drink 2% instead of whole milk? That is what I drink. I just don’t reckon I will ever stop drinking milk.
don’t you want to …
don’t you want to place on muscle weight though?
I’m trying to place …
I’m trying to place on weight, is it excellent for me to drink milk then
Didn’t know that …
Didn’t know that about excess protein and calcium. Fascinating. Maybe I read that?? Not sure. Alex Dumond,…I like your posts!!!!
Oh for sure it’s …
Oh for sure it’s got plenty more goodies than regular milk. I figured you were knocking it back like water but I guess if you’re eating healthy otherwise 1 cup a day is fine. Just remember that too much of a excellent thing is never a excellent thing. Excellent luck with the program, Cheers.

Well I have place …
Well I have place some serious muscle thanks to Raw milk
And i drink roughly one cup a day = 9 gr of Stout
(pre post and on the next meal)
Raw milk has millions of friendly fungi and parasite eating bacteria.
lactase to be tolerant to milk, and LOTS of other benefits.. people back then where healthier drinking raw milk. Look for paul check and sean croxton from Underground Wellness. Its the number one superfood on the list.
on an extreme workout and conditioning program i bet it doesnt.
Your body makes …
Your body makes cholesterol, It really nearly makes enough that you don’t need any from your diet. Only in very few circumstances would I suggest someone drink raw milk. Your body need roughly 300mg of Cholesterol a day, maybe a small more if you’re training. Cheers.

Absolutely, excellent …
Absolutely, excellent point but when considering the whole American or North American population as a whole I’d be mostly concerned about excessive intake of refined carbohydrates. Some of the problem lies in socioeconomic status as well, people with less money aren’t able to afford a high protein diet and when they do get protein it’s likely not very high quality. Cheers

Then you know that …
Then you know that excess protein causes the body to leach out calcium.
Y need Cholesterol …
Y need Cholesterol to make Testosterone, and Raw milk stout is just that X3
I’ll check into …
I’ll check into that, thanks. It was my experience that the consumption of DIET SODA made it VERY hard to stay on my diet. The rest of my diet was clean/ light in calories, but later on in the day..about every day, I started craving either sugary foods, and or processed foods of some sort. I’d eat 3 meals-2 snacks a day. I’d do very well with the first two meals and snacks, but couldn’t wait to head out for a 3rd meal out somewhere…with diet coke. Cravings disappeared when I gave up diet coke.
hey thanks man i …
hey thanks man i appriciate the advice man. i’ll try to make some changes in my diet. i do eat alot of meats but the shakes was just in between meals.
i’ll try the stout free milk now too. and take some multivitamins.
You got me on this …
You got me on this one. I’m no dietician and my background is in exercise physiology, biomechanics and training and I don’t want to give you an unfounded answer so I’ll direct you to 8packChris who I believe has the background you’re looking for to answer the question. Just do a search for the user name on this page. Cheers

Fantastic stuff!! …
Fantastic stuff!! You’ve earned your degree! I’ll have to agree with you on the sugar issue; dextrose, fructose and their relationship to Type 2 diabetes, you’re beyond me there. It was nice reading your posts. here’s a few people here who know a few things and of course Steve puts it all together well. You really know your stuff. I have a question that I reckon I know the answer to because I’ve lived it, but what are your thoughts on artificial sweetners and their effect on appetite? Thank you.
Are you telling me …
Are you telling me that the average American (who is nowadays overweight if not obese) gets all their essential Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats from CornPops, McDonald’s, a HungryMan dinner and a couple litres of soda? I’d be willing to bet most of your clients don’t even get the recommended amounts. Nothing against your program, we just need to realize the issues that the growing majority of Americans (and Canadians I’ll say) are facing. Cheers.

I’m thankful …
I’m thankful there’s someone else on this obese planet that isn’t just an uneducated muscle-head. People need to be educated in what is science and what is randomly invented by two randoms between sets on a TotalGym or some other similarly ridiculous contraption. Thanks for this post. Cheers

What you eat is …
What you eat is ALWAYS VITAL! A diet of jelly doughnuts will leave you sluggish and terribly unhealthy even with a negative calorie balance. Sure if all you’re concerned about is weight loss then go for it, but if you want you body to function optimally, eat a well balanced, healthy diet. Cheers

ABSOLUTELY FAKE, …
ABSOLUTELY FAKE, the data comes from a population that is likely obese, overweight and sedentary. Sure American’s diets are poor at best but bone strength increases with EXERCISE not calcium intake. I’m assuming you’re not a researcher and didn’t take a solid look at this very poorly constructed study. Proper diet is ESSENTIAL to a healthy body but America’s problem is first and foremost an increasingly sedentary lifestyle.

Steve is right but …
Steve is right but the type of calories you chose ARE vital. Look for nutrient dense foods (more micronutrients per calorie), special emphasis on complex carbohydrates and fiber as well as polyunsaturated fats. Saturated and trans fats decrease the permeability of cell membranes and slow transport of nutrients into cells. Simple sugars dextrose (glucose), fructose and sucrose contribute to blood sugar spikes which can lead to T2 Diabetes. Cheers

Nothing gets …
Nothing gets converted unless you are in excess of that particular nutrient. Carbs will convert into glycogen to replace that lost in muscle and the liver during exercise. IT DOESN’T MATTER when you burn it. Your body chooses the fuel (carbs or stout) based on the intensity of the activity but everything must be converted into glucose before use. In small it doesn’t make a difference. Just eat a balanced diet. Cheers

Best advice is drop …
Best advice is drop the weight gainer and eat more real foods, lean red meats 2 (maybe 3) times a week. Fish is fantastic and you can eat is as much as you want (within reason obviously). If you’re looking for something quick after a workout grab some chocolate milk (0 or 1% stout preferably). Unless you’re an elite (by elite I mean training for olympics or world cup) the only supplement you should consider taking is a multivitamin… Seriously. Cheers.

All fats have 9Cal/ …
All fats have 9Cal/g, that being said saturated and trans fats should be avoided as they have small to no function in the body besides turning into fatty tissue. This recipe sounds fantastic and it’s saturated stout content is quite minimal, plus you’re getting all sorts of other excellent stuff from those nuts and oils. Cheers.

I was just at the …
I was just at the store 2 days ago and looked at the huge Portabella mushrooms. When steamed, they sort of taste like hamburger. I’m guessing you steam the mushroom, pour some Olive oil on the mushroom, crush up the cashews and sunflower seeds, and spread it all into some low stout mozzarella cheese? Dude, you got me thinking.
